On April 28th, ColorStack held its latest Fam Friday event, bringing together members and friends for an afternoon of learning and networking. The event kicked off with a panel of ColorStack members who shared their latest projects, including a ChatGPT detector and a website that helps people find their local political representatives. The presentations were engaging, and it was inspiring to see the creativity and innovation of our community.
Next up was Racine Harris, Senior Product Manager at Smartsheet, who shared her insights on transitioning from healthcare to the tech industry. Racine spoke about the importance of project management skills and the day-to-day life of a project manager, providing valuable tips and advice to attendees.
The third session was led by a panel of Morgan Stanley employees, who discussed the importance of managing stress and avoiding burnout in a high-pressure work environment. The conversation was enlightening, and it was reassuring to hear about practical strategies and resources to prioritize self-care.
Last but not least, Ebitimi Orubina, Software Development Engineer at Zillow, shared his insights on imposter syndrome and how to overcome it through iteration. Ebitimi's presentation was thought-provoking, and his tips included embracing the feeling of being an imposter and using research to address knowledge gaps.
