With 115 attendees, October’s Fam Friday brought Black and Latinx community members from across the U.S. together for a series of career oriented seminars aimed at preparing students for careers in computer science.

This month’s event featured four segments. The first was geared toward helping attendees choose a career path as a new grad. The second was a technical workshop hosted by Zendesk in which students learned the most effective strategies for debugging their code. Next was a session hosted by Smartsheet that taught attendees how to build an app with domain driven design techniques. Fam Friday concluded with a technical interview session hosted by LinkedIn. October’s event had something for everyone––from those who were just starting to think about careers in tech to the entrepreneurial at heart.

Fam Friday would not be complete without its giveaways, of course. One student was announced as the winner of a $150 visa card for competing in ColorStack's pre- Fam Friday Instagram challenge. $600 worth of giveaways were distributed amongst 4 lucky winners during the event.
