ColorStack announces its Inaugural SambaNova Scholarship
ColorStack is set to launch its inaugural scholarship for Black and Latinx computer science students, sponsored by SambaNova Systems. The Palo Alto-based company focuses on making state of the art AI solutions accessible to more organizations and delivers the industry’s only comprehensive software, hardware, and solutions platform to run Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning, and foundation models. As part of the scholarship, ten ColorStack members will each receive $1,000, mentorship from SambaNova engineers, and the opportunity to interview for a full-time or intern position at the company.Â
‍
“SambaNova and ColorStack have collaborated since 2020; we continue to partner as we support their mission and organizational values,” stated Rachel Birks, VP of People Operations at SambaNova. “We are undergoing a transformational shift with AI and believe that diverse teams are more important today than ever. We’re funding this scholarship to enable more students to enter the AI field, and open themselves up to emerging career opportunities.”
‍
ColorStack members who play an active role in answering questions and supporting the community in the #academic Slack channels are eligible to apply. Applicants must also have completed the required coursework (Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, or Machine Learning) with a grade of B- or higher and be on track to graduate no later than June of 2024.Â
‍
The scholars will be selected based on their participation in the ColorStack community and their academic performance. The scholarship application will open on December 10th and close on December 20th. ColorStack juniors are encouraged to apply and reach out to Kaya Coleman in the community Slack if they have any questions.
